-An Introduction to Public Health and Community Service:
Public Health and Community Medicine is a clinical department that prepares cadre in the field of preventive medicine with all its fields; combating epidemics, occupational health, international and travelers health, environmental health, childhood and motherhood health, reproductive health, and other activities that depend on the concepts of improving health, protection against diseases and don’t seek medicine and treatment which lead to losing human and monetary energy, hindering society’s movement by hindering its individuals. The increasing number of hospitals, beds, and high disease rate are considered some of the indexes of health deterioration and clear evidence of the lack of protection programs and primary health care services.
The Public Health and Community Medicine Department at the Faculty of Medicine teaches second-year students a modern system and fourth-year students an ancient system. The public health curriculum includes both academic and practical components, as well as relevant field trips. Postgraduate students (Masters and PhD) are also taught at the department.
The scientific supervision is managed by an international professor. The department includes an elite of academic staff and their assistants (one assistant professor, three assistant lecturers, and four demonstrators ).
In order to ensure society’s well-being, Public Health and Community Medicine work to protect the public, advance the effectiveness of medical institutions, and increase public understanding of practices and behaviors that are important for health.

- Public health and community medicine educate the 2nd batch students, on the modern system, and the 4th batch, about the old system. The public health course includes practical and theoretical parts as well as field visits. The department also educates postgraduate students (Master’s and Md).
