Under the leadership of Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Hussein, Acting Dean, the Administration of the Faculty of Medicine at Aswan University remains dedicated to fostering ongoing development, elevating academic and research standards, and strengthening its regional and international standing. These efforts center on empowering researchers and advancing the quality of scholarly publishing.
Aswan University Medical Journal (AUMJ) has achieved significant milestones since its inception under the tenure of former Dean Prof.Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury, having obtained its International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) on May 18, 2020.
In May 2021, the journal earned a 4-point rating in the Supreme Council of Universities’ evaluation of local Egyptian journals, which was subsequently upgraded to 6 points following its re-evaluation in July 2022.
To expand its reach and solidify its academic footprint, AUMJ was indexed on the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB) portal in March 2022 and recognized in the World Health Organization’s Index Medicus for the Eastern Mediterranean Region (IMEMR) in November 2022.
