Registration for Master and Ph.D. Degrees and Enrollment Terms

The Faculty of Medicine’s registration of postgraduate programs outlines the prerequisites and regulations for enrollment, the permitted credit hours for master’s and doctorate degrees, and the testing procedure. The list can be seen and downloaded here.

A description of each person’s work responsibilities:

  • Application form (department chairman approval).
  • Bachelor’s certificate, including the applicant’s grade average and major.
  • Master certificate for doctorate applicants.
  • The Internship completion certificate.
  • Completion of residency period certificate.
  • Birth certificate or an official transcript of it.
  • A copy of the national ID.
  • The Military Status for Males.
  • Clear employer approval for studying postgraduate courses at Aswan University’s Faculty of Medicine (hospital director approval).
  • The Ministry of Health consents (ministerial nomination)
  • employment status statement
  • 7 modern personal photos.
  • Postgraduate studies registration form  (the form must be printed on one sheet of paper).
  • A plastic file with a capsule.

Postgraduate students for master’s and doctoral degrees must review the necessary instructions for the two forms (Protocol and Postdoctoral Research) and then fill them out carefully and send an electronic copy to the committee members via the following email:

Adopting the scientific publishing course, held regularly at the Faculty of Medicine in Aswan, as a requirement for registering a Master’s or Ph.D. thesis.

Papers required for registration of masters and doctoral theses:

The origin of the protocol.
(8) copies of the protocol.
Administrative papers for recording theses.

Note:

When printing administrative papers, the following must be observed:

Print pages 8–9 on one sheet of paper, and similarly when printing pages 10–11.

 

Postgraduate students must complete the following processes when registering for dissertations:

1- Obtaining a Master’s or PhD degree.

2- Immediately after enrolling, submit the creation of the dissertation supervision committee to the Graduate Studies Office at the college’s headquarters.

3- One month after the dissertation supervision committee is formed, register master’s or doctoral research protocols.

1- He must have previously trained as a resident doctor in the same specialty for at least one year in one of the hospitals or centers recognized as such.

2- It is permissible for a freelance doctor to enroll in postgraduate studies for a master’s degree in one of the clinical specializations, provided that he provides evidence of the cancellation or termination of his assignment to the Ministry of Health, as well as proof of his registration as a freelance doctor with the Medical Syndicate, at the time of his request for registration in postgraduate studies.

3- He must also fulfill the training conditions mentioned in the previous item, and if the training conditions are incompatible, he must submit the approval of the scientific department responsible for the degree to accept him for training for 12 months before entering the exams for the second part of the degree.

4- Paying the prescribed tuition fees of £2500 for the master’s degree and £3000 for the doctorate by the specified dates, except for teaching assistants and assistant teachers who are exempt from paying the fees.

5- (50) pound payment (the value of the registration file).

Postgraduate researchers seeking prior approval from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics must submit the following documents:

1- A sealed letter from the faculty in the name of the Director General of the General Department of Security at the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics.

2- The original survey form, with the faculty’s seal on each page.

3- A photocopy of the completed survey form.

4- Complete the data form (request for conducting research field study).

5- A photocopy of the researcher’s identification card (national number).
