As part of Aswan University Hospitals’ ongoing commitment to strengthening their community outreach and delivering specialized healthcare services to the people of Aswan Governorate, the Department of Ophthalmology organized a specialized medical convoy providing free eye examinations, diagnoses, and treatment services. The convoy was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Ashraf Maabad, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, and under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Howeidy, Head of the Department of Ophthalmology, and Dr. Rabab Adel, Director of the Outpatient Clinics.
The convoy witnessed a remarkable turnout from citizens, with a large number of patients receiving comprehensive medical examinations and the necessary diagnostic investigations. Each case was thoroughly evaluated to determine the most appropriate treatment plan or surgical intervention according to individual medical needs, reflecting the department’s commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare services in line with the highest standards of medical excellence and patient safety.
On the sidelines of the convoy, the Department of Ophthalmology also conducted follow-up examinations for patients who had previously undergone surgical procedures within the department. These follow-up visits aimed to monitor patients’ recovery, assess the outcomes of their surgeries, and provide the necessary post-operative care and medical guidance.
The convoy was carried out with the participation of a distinguished team of faculty members and physicians from the Department of Ophthalmology, reaffirming Aswan University Hospitals’ dedication to supporting community health initiatives, enhancing the quality of healthcare services provided to citizens, and ensuring access to specialized medical care for residents across the governorate’s cities, centers, and villages.
