As part of the Faculty of Medicine at Aswan University and Aswan University Hospitals’ commitment to promoting scientific activities and enhancing the academic and professional development of physicians and researchers, the Department of Chest Diseases organized its regular scientific seminar today, with the participation of a distinguished group of faculty members and teaching assistants.
The seminar was held under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Ashraf Maabad, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals; and Prof. Ramadan Ghaleb, Director of the Specialized Internal Medicine Hospital, and under the supervision of Prof. Shazly Baghdady, Head of the Department of Chest Diseases at Aswan University Hospitals.
The seminar addressed a significant and increasingly important global health issue: sleep-disordered breathing. The scientific sessions highlighted the latest concepts related to the condition, its most common clinical manifestations, modern diagnostic approaches, and updated treatment strategies in line with the most recent international guidelines.
The scientific lectures were delivered by:
–Prof. Shazly Baghdady, Head of the Department of Chest Diseases at Aswan University Hospitals.
–Dr. Iman Mohamed, Assistant Lecturer in the Department, who presented a comprehensive scientific overview covering the diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of the condition, along with selected clinical cases and the challenges encountered in their management.
This seminar forms part of the Department’s continuous efforts to disseminate specialized medical knowledge and promote the exchange of scientific expertise, thereby contributing to the development of healthcare professionals’ skills and the improvement of the quality of medical services provided to patients in Aswan Governorate and the Upper Egypt region.
