An awareness campaign about anemia and helicobacter pylori was launched on Monday March 28, 2022 till Tuesday March 29. It was organized by faculty of medicine’s student union’s scientific committee, at Notre Dame School and the Campus in Aswan Al Jadeda, under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Aswan university president, and Prof. Muhammad Zaki Al-Dahshoury, dean of the faculty of medicine, under the supervision of Prof. Mustafa Adam Al-Tiri, vice dean for education and student affairs, and Dr. Hussin Muhammad Hussin, faculty of medicine’s general coordinator of student activities.
Prof. Dahshoury stressed on the importance of student initiatives and activities to spread health awareness, in accordance with the university’s plan to activate student activities during the academic year, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, minister of higher education and scientific research. His Excellency extended his thanks and appreciation to faculty of medicine’s students in general and the team of scientific committee for awareness in particular.
Prof. Al-Tiri added that the students handled symptoms, prevention, treatment and various types of helicobacter pylori and anemia.
Students examined university students’ blood groups in order to form a waiting list for blood donors, and distributed (250) awareness publications in Aswan Al Jadeda branch and (50) ones in Notre Dame School. They contain information on (iron deficiency anemia – mediterranean anemia – sickle cell anemia – vitamin deficiency anemia).
