On Sunday, March 27, 2022, Aswan university Hospitals organized a medical convoy to Kom Ombo Public Hospital, under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Aswan university president, Prof. Muhammad Zaki El Dahshoury, dean of the faculty of medicine and chairman of Aswan university hospitals, and Dr. Ashraf Meabed, executive director of the university hospitals, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Amin, faculty of medicine’s vice dean for community service and environmental development.
Prof. Othman stressed on the importance of the university’s role towards society, as it represents the house of expertise. In this context, the state paid attention to the citizen’s health. His Excellency listened to some patients who suffer from several problems and ordered to send more medical convoys with different specialties.
Prof. Dahshoury added that the convoy included eleven different medical specialties: (general surgery – vascular surgery – pediatrics – dermatology – orthopedics – urology – ear, nose and throat – ophthalmology – internal medicine – obstetrics and gynecology).
Medical convoys organized by the Faculty of Medicine are considered one of the most important positive steps of Aswan community in various administrative centers by providing distinguished medical services and make it easier for the patients who used to travel to remote areas for treatment.
Prof. Moustafa Amin indicated that such medical convoys are part of a series of medical educational and service convoys organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Aswan University Hospital based on the initiative of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
