The science examines parasites and their relationship to the host body. The science is divided into three main sectors: helminthology, protozoology, and medical entomology.
The Department of Medical Parasitology is one of the departments of fundamental medical sciences of the Faculty of Medicine. It was created with the formation of the college, where studies began in 2013. The department teaches undergraduates and postgraduates (diploma, master, and doctorate).
The comprehensive vision aims to contribute to the mainstream of medical education in the field of medical parasitology in Egypt within the Islamic culture of the past and present to produce a graduate who is able to work efficiently according to accepted national standards.
It is the graduation of leading doctors and researchers who are able to apply national and international standards in the area of health care.
