What’s New in Nose, Ear, Throat, Audiology, and Conversational Diseases Surgery in the Department’s Seventh Annual Conference

Today, Wednesday, January 25, 2022, at the Isis Island Hotel in Aswan, the activities of the seventh annual conference of the Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat in Aswan Medicine, which continues until January 28, were launched under the title:

“What’s new in ear, nose, throat, audiology, and speech surgery”

This comes under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – President of Aswan University, Prof. Mohamed Zaki El Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Ashraf Ahmed Maabed – Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, under the supervision of Prof. Essam Abu El Magd El Sherif – Head of the Nose Department. Ear, Nose and Throat, Aswan Medicine and Conference President, and Dr. Mahmoud El-Sayed Khalifa – Lecturer of Ear, Nose, and Throat, Aswan Medicine and Conference Secretary.

In the honor and presence of Prof. Sami Elwany – President of the Egyptian Society of Otolaryngology, with the participation of a group of senior ENT professors from various Egyptian universities (Alexandria – Tanta – Cairo – Assiut – Sohag – South Valley), headed by: Prof. Hossam Al-Basrati, Prof. Khaled Abdel-Hady, and Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Aziz.

Aswan University President “Othman” emphasized the importance of organizing and hosting international scientific, medical, and research conferences as part of educational tourism and work to host conferences in accordance with Aswan University’s scientific status in international classifications.

The seventh medical conference on ENT surgeries will be attended by a group of senior professors in this specialty from various Egyptian universities, as well as several doctors from the military institution, according to Al-Dahshoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine. These conferences were intended to transfer experience to young doctors and to exchange information among those with university-level expertise.

“Abu Al-Majd,” the head of the department and the conference, indicated that the conference sessions will discuss everything related to hearing nerve diseases, as well as what is new in ear surgery, nasal and sinus endoscopy, hearing and speech diseases, speech defects, audiology diseases, middle ear, neck and throat diseases.

And diseases of the ear, nose, and throat, including:

-Nose and sinus tumors, as well as their progression, affect a large number of patients.

-Fungal diseases of the nose and sinuses, which are among the diseases that are widely spread in Aswan Governorate, and how to deal with them with the latest therapeutic methods.

-Diseases of the salivary glands and their tumors, and how to perform operations related to these diseases.

-Diseases associated with ear operations and ear bone caries, as well as how to treat this dangerous disease that affects a large number of children.

There is also a special session for grafting the eroded base of the skull caused by tumors, nasal polyps, and paranasal sinuses, as well as how to deal with them in this dangerous area of the human body. ”Khalifa”, secretary of the conference, explained that the conference included many scientific axes and modern treatment methods, which is an addition to the Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University and the University Hospital, adding that on the side of the conference, the first doctoral dissertation in the department presented by Dr. Engy Nagy Henry will be discussed., as well as discussing Dr. Ismail Mohamed’s master’s thesis, wishing the department more progress and success.
