Under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – President of Aswan University – and Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, the Student Scientific Association (AMSA Aswan), in collaboration with Students for Egypt and the Regional Blood Bank, organized a blood donation campaign that began today, Tuesday, January 24, 2023, and will continue until Wednesday, January 25, from four in the afternoon until eight in the evening.
“Dahshoury”, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, stressed the importance of student initiatives and activities undertaken by university students to carry out more health services, according to the university’s plan to activate student activities during the academic year, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where he directed His Excellency Thanks and appreciation to the Student Scientific Committee team and Students for Egypt in general and to the Regional Blood Bank in particular for their cooperation in this campaign and their efforts.
Al-Tiri, Undersecretary for Education and Student Affairs, explained that the doctor’s role should not be limited to treating patients, but rather he should disseminate medical information in all its forms, and this is what the campaign did, where students talked with citizens and presented information about who can donate from them and who. He had damage to his health at that time, and they were present on Al-Muhafaza Street, in front of the Aswan Sports Club.
The students also expressed gratitude to the faculty administration and the university hospital for their cooperation and for meeting their needs by providing ambulances that were prepared and equipped with the necessary aid, and that the administration does not miss an opportunity to support students in producing a new generation capable of giving.
