The Supreme Medical Committee and Relief in the Council of Ministers, Aswan and South Valley Universities, and Good Makers Foundation for Development, in cooperation with the Directorate of Health Affairs in Aswan, organized an expanded medical convoy that includes all specialties to treat those who are unable at the state’s expense, under the auspices of the Prime Minister under the supervision of Major General / Ashraf Attia – Governor Aswan, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – President of Aswan University, Prof.Youssef Garnawy – President of South Valley University, and Mr. Gaber Abu Khalil – Member of Parliament, which was launched over three days to include the following:

The villages of Benban Bahri and Mansourieh in Daraw Markaz – on Thursday, June 16, 2022.
The villages of Benban Qibli, Al-Raqba, and Al-Herbyab in the Daraw Center – on Friday, June 17, 2022.
The villages of Gharb Aswan and Kobaniya in Aswan Center – Saturday, June 18, 2022.

The convoy came under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Amin – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Ashraf Mabad – Director of Aswan University Hospital.

Osman, President of Aswan University, stressed that the university’s role in community service and environmental development comes from the perspective of the university’s continuous launch of medical convoys within the framework of the university’s keenness to participate in the service of the local community, by providing distinguished services in all disciplines by experts and specialized professors.

Dr. Dahshoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, indicated that the work of the medical convoy comes within the framework and within the plan of the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital in providing medical services through various medical convoys to the areas most in need, and works to increase the interdependence between the university, society and the surrounding environment, works to reduce the burden on the responsibility of the citizens and to activate the role of the university in caring for the people of the region through integrated convoys to the poorest villages.

Dr. Mohamed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the first purpose of the convoy was to provide an integrated medical service to patients. The convoy checked medical examinations for all cases and provided treatment for free in (12) specialties.
