The Faculty of Medicine and Aswan University Hospitals organized a medical convoy in the village of West Suhail, on Friday, January 28, 2022, in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi – President of the Republic, which he launched within the framework of the “Decent Life” initiative to develop Egyptian villages.
The convoy came under the auspices of Dr.Khaled Abdel Ghaffar – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – President of Aswan University, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, and Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Amin – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Ashraf Mabad – Director of Aswan University Hospital.
Dr. Othman, President of Aswan University, confirmed that the university’s role in community service and environmental development comes from its interaction with its participation in all presidential initiatives, including the “Decent Life” initiative for the development of Egyptian villages. Its participation in serving the local community, by providing distinguished services in all disciplines by experts and specialized professors in line with the objectives of the presidential initiative.
His Excellency added that under the directives of the political leadership to actively participate and work to highlight the role of university education in developing society and its development and expanding its knowledge and cultural horizons through the contribution of its institutions in graduating graduates who are able to develop their societies and work to treat street issues with specialized scientific and research solutions.
Dr. Al-Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, indicated that the medical convoy works within the framework and within the plan of the Faculty of Medicine and the University Hospital to provide medical service through various medical convoys to the areas most in need and work to increase the interdependence between the university, society, and the surrounding environment and work to reduce the burden on citizens and to activate the role of the university in caring for the people of the region through integrated convoys to the poorest villages.
Dr. Mohammed, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, explained that the first purpose of the convoy is to provide an integrated medical service to patients.
Dr. Ma’bad, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, stated that the university hospital had launched a medical convoy to the village of West Suhail before, specializing in ophthalmology and surgery, and it was after the visit of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to the village. It has professors and faculty members from the Faculty of Human Medicine and University Hospital in Aswan.
