under the patronage of the dean of the faculty of medicine Prof. Hussein Al-Sharif, a workshop entitled ” Gastrointestinal Endoscopy ” was held in Aswan university hospital as a part of the activities of the first international conference of the department of tropical medicine and gastroenterology. Diagnosis and treatment upper endscopy as well as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography ERCP were done under the supervision of a selected group of professors of gastrointestinal endoscopes from various Egyptian universities. The workshop was held under the supervision of Prof. Ihab Fawzi Abdo, scientific supervisor of the department and the conference’s chairman.
