The Department of Urology and Andrology at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, launched five specialized surgical workshops focusing on major urological operations at Aswan University Hospitals. These workshops were held on Monday and Tuesday, February 2–3, 2026, as part of the preparations for the Third Conference of the Department of Urology, scheduled to take place at Isis Hotel from February 4–6, 2026.
The workshops were held under the auspices of Prof. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat, President of Aswan University; Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Hussein Younis, Head of the Department of Urology and Andrology at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, and President of the Conference.
Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Professor of Urology, stated that these workshops aim to transfer advanced surgical expertise and introduce participants to the latest international techniques in urological surgery through hands-on practical training, with the participation of a distinguished group of international professors and experts.

The first workshop, entitled “Latest Treatment Modalities for Female Urinary Incontinence and Female Urological Disorders” was organized by Dr. Ahmed Salah, Lecturer of Urology at Aswan University. The workshop featured eight advanced surgical procedures performed by:
Prof. Gamal Ghoneim, Professor of Urology and Andrology, University of Texas, USA.
Prof. Hassan Abdel Latif, Professor of Urology, Assiut University.
Prof. Bilal Farhan, Professor of Urology and Andrology, University of Texas, USA.
Dr. Mahmoud Farouk, Lecturer of Urology, Assiut University.
The second workshop, titled “The Use of Laparoscopic Surgery in Urological Procedures,” was organized by Dr. Hassan Ali, Lecturer of Urology at Aswan University. Surgical procedures were performed by:
Prof. Ahmed Shoma, Professor of Urology, Mansoura University.
Prof. Ali Abdel Karim, Professor of Urology, Alexandria University.
Prof. Mahmoud Shalaby, Professor of Urology, Assiut University.
The third workshop, “Advanced Urethral Surgery,” was conducted by:

The fourth workshop, entitled “Recent Advances in Laser and Prostate Vaporization Surgery and the Use of Flexible Endoscopes in Stone Management,” is organized by Dr. Peter Tawfik, Lecturer of Urology at Aswan University, and will include procedures performed by:
Prof. Gautam Banga, India.
Prof. Ehab Refaat, Professor of Urology, Minia University.
Prof. Enmar Habib, Professor of Urology, Cairo University.
The fifth workshop will focus on “Penile Implant Surgery: Hydraulic and Flexible Implants for the Treatment of Erectile Dysfunction.” The workshop will include three to four surgical procedures and is organized by Dr. Amr Alam, Lecturer of Urology and Andrology at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University. The surgeries will be performed by the internationally renowned Professor Carlo from Italy.
The workshop organizers emphasized that these events represent a significant scientific and practical contribution, enhancing the clinical skills of young physicians and providing patients in Upper Egypt with access to the latest advanced treatment modalities.
