University President Witnesses the Awareness Activities for Kidney and Internal Diseases at the University hospital

As part of Aswan University’s efforts to develop medical services and support health awareness efforts, and in the presence of His Excellency Prof. Prof. Loai Saad El-Din Nasrat – Acting President of Aswan University, Aswan University Hospitals witnessed, over the course of Wednesday and Thursday, February 12-13, 2025, an intensive workshop to raise awareness of kidney diseases and train medical and nursing staff in the internal medicine and kidney departments to deal with dialysis machines and follow the best methods of patient safety, infection control, and appropriate nutrition programs for various disease cases. Some disease cases related to kidney diseases were also presented and discussed, and the activities included discussing two doctoral theses in the field of general internal medicine.

 

Loai, the university president, welcomed the distinguished attendees and praised the college’s educational and service role in transferring professors’ expertise and experiences to young doctors, noting that the Faculty of Medicine at Aswan University is now hosting a number of scientific conferences with scientists and doctors from various medical specialties, which contributes to the university’s advancement among universities.

 

Maabad, the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development, confirmed that hosting this event is part of Aswan University’s commitment to providing an integrated educational and practical environment for future doctors, as well as developing the skills of medical cadres in related specialized fields, with the goal of improving community health and providing advanced and high-quality medical care.

 

Prof. Hala Al-Obaidi, Head of the Department of General Internal Medicine and Nephrology and Head of Scientific Activity, stated that this is the Department of General Internal Medicine’s sixth awareness activity.

Her Excellency emphasized that the activity included an elite group of professors from several Egyptian universities who provided lectures of considerable relevance for sound medical practice in the field of kidney disorders and transplantation, among whom were:

Prof.  Gamal El-Saadi – President of the African Society of Nephrology and Transplantation.
Prof. Mai Hasaballah – President of the Egyptian Society of Nephrology.
Prof.  Hala El-Wakil – Professor at Alexandria University.
Prof.  Saeed Khamis – Head of the Nephrology Unit at Port Said University.
Prof. Lamia – Head of the Nephrology Unit at Al-Azhar University.
