Under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, and Prof. Ashraf Maabad, Director of the Surgery Hospital and Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development, the Department of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, held its periodic scientific seminar on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Aswan University Hospital.
The seminar was attended by physicians from the department, as well as a number of doctors from Aswan University Hospital and the Ministry of Health. The event was supervised by Dr. Awni Ali Abdel Rahman and Dr. Mina Tharwat Shukry, faculty members of the department.
The supervisors of the scientific day explained that the seminar addressed the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 and Marburg fever. They noted that the department holds this scientific day regularly to benefit young doctors by transferring expertise to them, which in turn benefits patients in Aswan Governorate and neighboring governorates.
