The Medical Student Union Launches a Field Campaign to Raise Awareness about Sunstroke and Scorpion and Snake stings

The Scientific Committee of the Student Union of the Faculty of Medicine organized a field campaign to raise awareness about emergencies in general, heat stroke, and scorpion and snake stings in particular, which was launched on Thursday and Friday, corresponding to June 6-7, 2022, under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – President of Aswan University, and Prof. Muhammad Zaki Al-Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, under the supervision of Prof. Mustafa Adam Al-Tiri – Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Hussein Muhammad Hussein – General Coordinator of Student Activities at the Faculty of Medicine.

“Al-Dahshoury”, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, stressed the importance of student initiatives and activities carried out by university students to spread more health awareness, in accordance with the university’s plan to activate student activities during the academic year, under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, where H.E directed thanks and appreciation to the Faculty of Medicine students in general and the team of the Scientific Committee in particular for this awareness campaign and their effort.

Al-Tiri, Undersecretary for Education and Student Affairs, explained that the campaign dealt with symptoms, prevention, and treatment of sunstroke, scorpion stings, and all kinds of snakes, and how to deal with them. Students talked with citizens on the first day of the campaign and where they surveyed Station, Tourist Market, the cafes, Al Salam Garden, and the surrounding gardens, where on the second day they surveyed Aswan Youth Center, Philae Gallery, Coffees, Corniche, Al Salam Garden, and Aswan Station.
