On a historic day for healthcare in Upper Egypt, and under the patronage of Prof. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat, President of Aswan University; Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and Prof. Ashraf Maabad, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, His Excellency Eng.Amr Lashin, Governor of Aswan, inaugurated the new Orthopedic Surgery Hospital. This comprehensive medical facility combines state-of-the-art technology with extensive scientific expertise.
The hospital was inaugurated under the distinguished scientific and professional leadership of Prof. Hesham El-Refaey, Head of the Orthopedics Department, who serves as the chief supervisor of all advanced surgical procedures, as well as the department’s academic and training programs.
His Excellency is recognized as a leading academic figure who has supervised the training and graduation of successive generations of physicians, in addition to his meticulous oversight of the examination system, ensuring the continued success and sustainability of this medical institution.
Prof. El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, emphasized that the Orthopedic Hospital represents a major step forward in healthcare services, aiming to ease the burden of travel for patients in Aswan and the southern governorates. The hospital has been equipped with the latest medical and surgical technologies, ensuring that highly complex procedures can be performed with maximum efficiency.
The new hospital offers integrated medical services under the management of Dr. Mohamed Abdullah, Hospital Director, who is working diligently to ensure seamless coordination among medical, nursing, and administrative teams. This is in collaboration with Dr. Abdullah El-Kashef, Medical Director, and Dr. Mohamed Saeed, Administrative Supervisor of the Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care Unit.
The hospital includes the following facilities:
-A radiology unit featuring a fully equipped X-ray department, staffed by a distinguished team of radiologists and technicians to ensure accurate and prompt diagnosis.
-Logistical capacity including 26 inpatient beds and 3 fully equipped operating rooms, in addition to a departmental meeting room and lecture halls designed to support education and research activities.
A team of 40 physicians working under the scientific and professional leadership of Prof.j. Hesham El-Refaey, representing various academic ranks, and supported by dedicated nursing staff, human resources personnel, and all hospital employees.
