Today corresponding to 2nd of March 2021, Aswan university president Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed got the first dose of the new COVID-19 vaccine which is allocated Aswan university hospital’s medical staff. The vaccination process starts according to the priority in registration. The vaccine was also given to the dean of the faculty of medicine Prof. Mohamed Zaki Dahshoury, the university hospital’s executive manager Dr. Ashraf Maabad, and the general manager of the hospital Prof. Essam Abu Al Magd in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Mustafa, vaccination process official.
Prof. Ghallab stressed that protecting medical personnel is one of the Egyptian state’s priorities as it is keen on providing full care to the White Army (Medical Staff). He added that the Chinese “Sinopharma” vaccine has been registered in Egypt by the Egyptian Drug Authority. The vaccine proved its effectiveness in clinical trials which reaches (89%) in the production of antibodies, (99%) in protection against infection and (100%) in protection from critical symptoms.
Prof. Ghallab added that the university hospital serves Aswan patients as well as the patients of neighboring governorates in Upper Egypt. In this context, he urges all society sectors to cooperate for the health of the patients in light of the repercussions of the new COVID-19.
Dr. Ashraf Maabad declared that today a cooperation was done with Faisal Islamic Bank, Aswan Branch, in the presence of Mr. Ashraf Muhammad Hussein, director of the Bank, regarding the possibility of providing modern medical devices to the university hospital and medical aid via conducting X-rays and chemical analyses as well as providing medicine to the poor and the disabled in coordination with the university hospital’s administration.
Mr. Ashraf Hussein added that the bank management seeks to promote its role towards society as for financial aid to the people who can’t afford treatment expenses and providing disinfectants amid confronting the emerging COVID-19.
