Under the patronage of the dean of the faculty of medicine Prof. Mohammed Zaki Al Dahshori and the supervision of the vice dean of education and students’ affairs Prof. Moustafa Al Tiri and the vice dean of community service and environmental development Prof. Hesham Al Refaee, the faculty of medicine announces its enrolment in “Egyptian Youth 2021” initiative that aims at promoting the youth volunteers’ capacities in positive education and raising the awareness about some social behavior as well as training them on the topics related to public health works.
The current phase of the initiative came into force and is called “ Educating Peers” on COVID-19 Pandemic which affected the whole world. So the initiative gained special significance as fulfilling the Egyptian youth role in social awareness, estimating anxiety and stress related to the pandemic and the way of overcoming them by spreading precise information on public health and how to apply social distancing as well as all the precautionary measures against COVID-19. The volunteers of the faculty of medicine’s students will start the awareness campaign targeting their collogues as well as society members about the risks of COVID-19 and the importance of abiding by the precautionary measures to support the ministry of health’s efforts in fighting the pandemic and bullying against the health sectors’ workers and the people who contracted the virus.
