Today corresponding to February 3, 2022, Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Aswan university president, inaugurated the Sixth Conference on Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery, in the presence of Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury, dean of the faculty of medicine, and Prof. Essam Abu Al-Majd Al-Sharif, chairman of ENT and of the Conference, Dr. Ashraf Ahmed Meabed, executive manager of Aswan university hospitals, and a group of senior professors of ear, nose, and throat from various Egyptian universities.
Prof. Othman stressed, during his speech, the importance of organizing international scientific, medical, and research conferences, which are part of educational tourism. He also pointed out the importance of hosting medical, scientific, and research conferences in line with Aswan University’s scientific position in international rankings. The sixth conference of ENT surgeries came after conferences were suspended amid the repercussions of the COVID-19 pandemic.
His Excellency also welcomed the honorable attendees and thanked Prof. Al-Dahshoury for the great effort exerted by the faculty of medicine in developing the research, scientific and medical system in Aswan, which helped Aswan University obtain a global scientific position in the international rankings.
Al-Dahshoury added that many Egyptian universities participated in the Sixth International Conference on Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery, including Alexandria University, Cairo University, Al-Azhar University, Assiut University, Minia University, and a group of senior professors of ear, nose, and throat from in various universities. The conference will continue for two days and will be concluded tomorrow evening, Friday, February 4. The conference will add many scientific and research recommendations in the specialty of ear, nose, and throat.
Prof. Essam Abul-Magd explained that the conference handles many scientific themes and modern treatment methods. Among the most important scientific sessions of the conference are entitled:
Ear and skull base diseases, audiology, vertigo, inner ear, and all issues related to cochlear nerve diseases, in the presence of a visiting professor from the Institute of Ear and Skull Base Diseases in Cyprus, on how to treat vertigo and dizziness in modern ways. The conference includes many scientific sessions to discuss the new issues on ear surgery, nose and sinus endoscopy, speech diseases, speech defects, and middle ear, neck, and throat diseases. The conference aims at transferring experiences between young doctors and doctors in Upper Egypt and those with expertise in ear, nose .and throat specialization at the Egyptian universities level
