Today corresponding to February 20, 2022, Aswan Doctors Syndicate, in cooperation with Aswan university and health directorate, celebrated the graduation of the faculty of medicine’s seventh batch. The number of graduates reached 86 ones. The ceremony took place in the hall of Tulip Hotel, Nile Corniche. It was attended by Aswan governor Maj. Gen. Ashraf Atteya, head of Aswan doctors’ syndicate, president of Sphinx university and former president of Aswan university Prof. Mansour Kabbash, the vice dean of the faculty of engineering Prof. Loay Saad El-Din on behalf of Aswan university president Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, the dean of the faculty of medicine and chairman of Aswan university hospitals Prof. Muhammad Zaki Al-Dahshoury, the vice dean of the faculty of medicine for education and student affairs Prof. Mustafa Adam Al-Tiri, the vice dean for postgraduate studies and research Prof. Muhammad Mustafa Hussein, executive manager of Aswan university hospitals Dr. Ashraf Meabed, director of surgery hospital Prof. Essam Abul-Magd, a group of departments chairmen, academic staff, their assistants, a group of Islamic and Christian figures, Dr. Hossam Abdel Fahim, secretary of the syndicate, and a group of doctors’ families who attended this honorable celebration amidst a great ovation, and a great joy by the children’s success, the end of an important step in their future steps.
Maj. Gen. Ashraf Atteya praised the efforts of Aswan university and its leading role in providing opinion and scientific and research advice necessary to support the executive efforts made in various areas of development to fully meet the challenges, demands and public needs, as it is a house of expertise and an important scientific beacon of which we are proud.
Prof. Kabbash stated that celebrating faculty of medicine’s graduates in Aswan is an annual habit organized by the Syndicate through the ceremony of the doctors sub-syndicate, explaining that the number of graduates from Aswan and neighboring governorates reached (86) ones. He added that the Syndicate holds this ceremony to honor its graduates of intern doctors; this celebration is an announcement that the Syndicate in Aswan is the home of every doctor where it provided all aspects of support in terms of training and preserving the status and rights of doctors with their various specialties.
Prof. Al-Dahshoury explained that the graduation ceremony is a tradition that takes place every year, adding that these graduates were assigned to work as resident and intern doctors in Aswan university hospital, in various medical specialties such as surgery, gynecology, obstetrics, orthopedics, dentistry, and other, which they chose with complete transparency based on their desires according to the total scores of each of them. Some of them will work in the academic departments of the faculty of medicine. His Excellency indicated that the first academic year in the faculty began in 2013/2014 after the issuance of the Republican Decree No. (200) of (2013).
Prof. Al-Tiri congratulated his children of graduates and their families, wishing them continued excellence and success in their practical and future lives. He pointed at the significance of the faculty of medicine in providing human cadre who are fully prepared to meet the shortfalls in health units and hospitals to coincide with the continuous follow-up of the ongoing development projects to start implementing the comprehensive health insurance system, which will include 11 hospitals, 112 health units and a medical center, which will help in enhancing medical and treatment services and upgrading the health system provided to patients in various cities and villages.
Dr. Meabed expressed his happiness with this batch of distinguished doctors who are a new addition in the various departments of the university hospital and a supportive force in serving patients of Aswan and neighboring governorates in light of the development witnessed by Aswan University hospitals.
The attendees honored the graduates where Dr. Fahim recited the graduates’ oath and the young doctors repeated after him. At the end of the ceremony, Prof. “Dahsawy” granted Faculty of Medicine’s Shield to the governor, for his part Maj. Gen. Ashraf Atteya granted the Governorate’s Shield to the dean of the faculty of medicine. Prof. Dahshori honored the academic staff and their assistants who were prompted during the academic year, he also honored Students’ Union’s members as appreciation of their efforts in helping their fellow students.
