Aswan University Organizes a Celebration on the Occasion of Science Day and the 10th Anniversary of its Establishment By Honoring its Scientists

Today, Tuesday, June 28, 2022, Aswan University celebrated, headed and in the presence of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, President of Aswan University on the occasion of Science Day and the 10th anniversary of its establishment in conjunction with the celebrations on the anniversary of the Egyptian people with the glorious 30 June revolution.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Major General Ashraf Attia – Governor of Aswan in the Hall of Field Marshal Hussein Tantawy at the University Campus in Sahara; where it began with the national anthem and a moment of mourning for the spirit of Field Marshal “Tantawy” Head of the Supreme Council For the former Armed Forces and the credit for the separation of Aswan University from South Valley University, by Republican Decree No. (311) for the year 2012, and Prof. Mohamed Abdel Aziz Muhalal – Director of the International Classification at Aswan University and Supervisor of the celebration presented an introductory presentation on the university’s achievements and its scientific and research classifications Globalism.

”Othman” President of Aswan University, explained, through his speech, during which he welcomed the attendance of university leaders, Islamic and Christian clergy, and deans of the faculties, and extended his thanks and appreciation to the political leadership, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the president of the republic, the patron of science and scholars, especially in light of the university’s celebration of Science Day, which is considered the locomotive of comprehensive development in various fields.

His Excellency also extended his thanks and appreciation to the former university presidents, Prof. Mansour Kabash, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, former university vice presidents, Prof. Abdel-Qader Mohamed, and Prof. Magdy Mohamed Ali, and everyone who contributed to building and establishing the university. Aswan University and its progress, and the events of the ceremony included a whole week on this occasion, starting from Sunday, June 26, until Thursday, June 30, 2022.

Muhalal, Director of the International Classification at Aswan University, stressed that the university is working to achieve its goals through continuous communication with all academic and educational bodies in the Arab world and the world, and this is what made Aswan University ranked the first position in international classifications as the best Egyptian University for 2022 and among the top 500 international universities. For three consecutive years according to the British Times classification and among the top 100 universities for the second year in a row in the Times classification to achieve sustainable development goals, the university is working to graduate a generation of leaders and innovators in various fields of knowledge.

At the end of the ceremony, the recipients of the university’s scientific awards (discretionary – encouraging – scientific publication) were honored. The best faculties in the international classification and the best researchers from various faculties of the university were honored, among them was an elite academic staff of the Faculty of Medicine and attended of them:

Prof. Ramadan Ghaleb Mohamed – Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine.
Prof. Ahmed Fathy Gabr – Head of the Department of Ophthalmology.
Prof. Hala Abdul-Lah Al-Obaidi – Head of the Department of General Internal Medicine.

As well as honoring the international classification team at the university and honoring the members of the awards committee, the events were concluded by taking memorial photos with the president of the university and the attendees.
