With the start of a new day, a new epic began with Prof. Ahmed Qenawy, Head of the Plastic Surgery Department at Aswan University Hospitals, and his work team, where an elite group of specialized scientists at Aswan University Hospitals signed off on the final detection of facial and hand deformities in children.
Within a full week, the organization of examinations, operations, and follow-ups for the surgical convoy for March in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery was completed, under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Othman, President of the University, and Prof.Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, and Prof. Mohamed Salah El-Din under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Qenawy – Head of the Plastic Surgery Department.
“Qenawy” reported that 22 cases of congenital defects of the head and neck, as well as defects of the hand and face, were treated and reviewed and that this free monthly convoy was launched with the participation of the University Hospital’s Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Department of Anaesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care, volunteer pediatric doctors, and students, from the Faculty of Medicine and Nursing’s Department of Cosmetology, and Labors.
It was a happy humanitarian and therapeutic gathering in which the International Foundation for Operation Smile’s capabilities were combined with the efforts of the hospital staff, resulting in the best results and care while easing the burden on incapable families and expanding volunteer work to serve waiting lists and receive new cases in the specialty to provide the best therapeutic methods. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this humanitarian epic.
