The First International Scientific Conference of the Department of Tropical Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Hepatology was inaugurated on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at the Mövenpick Resort Aswan. The conference was held under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ehab Fawzy Abdo, Head of the Department and Conference Chair.
The opening ceremony was attended by Prof. Abdel Qader Mohamed Abdel Qader, Acting President of Aswan University; Prof. Dr. Mansour Mohamed Kabash, Honorary Conference Chair; Prof. Hussein El-Sherif, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Mr. Abdel Nasser Mohamed, Secretary-General of Aswan Governorate, representing Major General Magdy Hegazy, Governor of Aswan; and Prof. Hubert Blume, Professor at the University of Freiburg, Germany.
The conference featured a series of scientific sessions and presentations addressing the latest developments in the fields of tropical medicine, gastroenterology, and hepatology. It brought together a distinguished group of academics and medical professionals from nine Egyptian universities, in addition to representatives from the National Liver Institute, the National Cancer Institute in Cairo, the University of Freiburg in Germany, and physicians from Aswan and various governorates across Egypt.
