Activities of the Scientific Day of the Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Latest Updates Regarding Placenta Accreta

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of Aswan University Hospital Administration, and Prof. Ashraf Maabad, Executive Manager of Aswan University Hospital, the activities of the Scientific Day of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, were held today, Wednesday, February 15, 2026.

The event was organized under the supervision of Prof. Nahla Waar El-Sayed Shady, Head of the Department, and was honored by the presence of Prof. Kamal Mohamed Zahran, Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, Head of the Placenta Accreta Unit in Upper Egypt, and a member of the International Society of Placenta Accreta Spectrum.

 

During the Scientific Day, ”Prof. Zahran” delivered several lectures throughout the day and performed a surgical procedure considered one of the most complex operations in the field of advanced placenta accreta, utilizing the latest modern techniques. The event was attended by faculty members, their assistants, and physicians of the department, aiming to exchange expertise and enhance clinical skills.

 

On the sidelines of the Scientific Day, Prof. Zahran discussed two master’s theses submitted by:
Dr. Aya Sayed Abdel-Rady, Resident Physician, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Arwa Ashraf Saeed, Resident Physician, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

 

The supervision and examination committee praised the scientific value of both theses and approved them.
