Referring to the letter issued on 2/28/2021, regarding providing us with all the proposals of Academic staff, their assistants, students, and employees of the esteemed university regarding the Law of Universities regulation in frame of Egyptian state’s efforts to promote higher education and keeping pace with recent developments globally in this field and implementing the articles of the Egyptian Constitution Issued in 2014, which emphasized the importance of education as a fundamental pillar of the renaissance of society and in line with the government’s political leanings regarding the need to give higher education the necessary importance while working to develop and modernize it.
And as the Universities regulation Law No. 49 of 1972 has passed nearly fifty years since its issuance, and developments not only the Egyptian but also the global community have undergone that necessitates a reconsideration of this law in its entirety, and opinion has turned towards issuing a new law for higher education that is modern and Flexibility leads to an improvement in the level of higher education and scientific research and its quality, in order to its outputs are dedicated to what society aspires and meets its needs, this law should be an implementation of the constitutional provisions of the Egyptian constitution issued in 2014, especially Articles from 19 to 24, which paid special attention to education.
According to that the Supreme Council of Universities decided, in its session held on 20/2/2021, to form a committee to formulate a proposal to amend the texts of the articles of the Universities regulation Law No. 49 of 1972 and its executive regulations in accordance with the requirements of the day.
In view of the importance of university community interaction and concerted efforts to accomplish this work in a way that achieves the hopes and aspirations of Egyptian universities to occupy a distinguished position among international universities, so we are pleased to receive all proposals from Academic staff, their assistants, students and employees of the esteemed university, within two weeks from its date until The committee will be able to complete the work assigned to it within two months.
