Prof. Loai Sa’ad Al- Din Nasatat-Acting of Aswan University President opened the 4th annual conference of obstetrics and gynecology department in attendance of Prof. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof.Mohamed Salah El-Din Fahmy-Executive Manager of Aswan University Hospitals, Prof. Ashraf Maebad-Faculty Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Hamed Mekki – Head of Aswan Doctors Syndicate, which is hold on on Saturday corresponding to April 12, 2025 at the building of the New Internal Hospital under the supervision of Prof. Nahla Waer El-Sayed, Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Aswan Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Conference, and Prof. Hani Ahmed Farouk, Secretary General of the Conference, in attendance of an elite of professors in Aswan Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.

 

The conference started with words from the Holy Quran, followed by the national hymn. The university president, Nasrat, then presented a welcome speech to the attendees. He emphasized the Faculty of Medicine’s role in elevating Aswan University’s status, stating that the faculty’s departments hold several conferences each year to stay current with medical developments and to transfer expertise from senior professors to young doctors. He hoped that the attendees will profit from the scientific lectures and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Aswan Governorate.

 

During his speech, Al-Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, stated that the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the departments that strives to hold conferences and scientific meetings on a regular basis in order to gain access to the most recent developments in scientific research in this field, which in turn has an impact on the health of Aswan women. He thanked the conference’s organizers.

 

Waer, the department’s chief, indicated that the conference will cover major themes in obstetrics and gynecology over two days, Saturday and Sunday, April 12-13, 2025, in Aswan Governorate. The conference will continue in Hurghada on April 24-25, with a delegation of obstetrics and gynecology academics from several Egyptian universities in the Arab Republic of Egypt.

 

Her Excellency mentioned that two seminars were held on the sidelines of the conference in collaboration with the Microsurgical Society, which covered advanced laparoscopic methods for hysterectomy in situations of uterine prolapse, and fetal medicine.
