Benha University launched the Smart Cities Hackathon, Smart Government Hackathon, and Emerging Technologies Hackathon to empower people with disabilities in an effort to encourage young Egyptian university students to use their ideas, innovations, and research and development capabilities to solve real-world problems.
Given the significance of such events in achieving Egypt’s Vision 2023 and transitioning to a knowledge-based digital economy that promotes innovation, research, and development, as well as belief in the role of higher education and scientific research in facilitating this transformation, and in building on the success of previous events.
Consequently, Benha University announces the commencement of the Smart Education Hackathon under the slogan:
“Artificial Intelligence Applications, Egypt’s Digital Future”
This is under the auspices of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the goal is to find innovative solutions in seven areas of education: (distance education, interactivity in education, flexible education tools, language learning platforms, transforming education into a game, learner support systems, and data analysis for education).
Participating teams will be qualified through online lectures led by Egyptian university lecturers. Finally, the qualified teams will spend three days at Benha University, where they will receive the required support, supervision, and advice to build and develop prototypes of their concepts. On the third day, specialist experts will analyze the prototypes, and the results will be announced, along with awards.
The winners of the hackathon will also receive cash prizes totaling (140) thousand Egyptian pounds provided by Benha University, and the winners will have a great opportunity to market their innovations.
