The Supreme Council of Universities (General Administration of Cultural Relations, Department of International Organisations and Conferences) announces that according to what was reported to the Council Secretariat, the “Emirates Environmental Working Group” intends to hold the Environmental Public Speaking Competition between colleges and universities during its (24) session, which is scheduled to take place from November 25-28, 2024.
The competition began in 2001 and has since grown in popularity throughout the UAE, GCC, Mashreq, and Maghreb. Since its foundation, the group’s main goal has been to develop environmental awareness and strengthen the capacity of various segments of society, particularly youth, on ecological and sustainability concerns through its many educational programs. The group aims to educate and empower the next generation to contribute to the long-term development of their countries and communities. It also strives to safeguard the future sustainability of natural resources by bringing about a positive shift in the behavior and lifestyle of the younger generation in our communities, developing a generation that is aware of the environment and familiar with ways of preservation.
Last year, 89 teams from 24 countries, including Arab and foreign governments, registered for the (23) session. This year, the group hopes that as many colleges as possible will participate in raising environmental awareness and developing university students’ talents through this essential educational platform.
Students interested in participating in this international competition to address the most serious environmental concerns, whether in person or digitally, should check the competition specifics by communicating via email:
