International Convey for Treating Children in Cooperation with Aswan University and Smile Operation Foundation

  Emphasizing on the estate’s role in supporting health care and the university’s keenness on encouraging medical teamwork and the participation of the university in general and the faculty of medicine in particular in community serving and supporting medical effort and continuing learning, under the patronage of Aswan university president Prof. Ayman Othman, the faculty of medicine’s dean and the chairman of Aswan university hospitals Prof. Mohammed Zaki Al Dahshori and the hospital’s executive manager Dr. Ashraf Meabeed, today morning corresponding to 3rd of Dec. 2021 was the the 1st day of the international convoy held in plastic surgery department under the supervision of the department’s chairman Dr. Ahmed Abd Al Raheim Qenawy in cooperation with International American Society for Smile Operation and International Organization for Migration. The convoy is scheduled to continue till 10th Dec. 2021.

  Prof. Dahshori clarified the university role in taking the responsibility of the humanity message and the medical and social care not only at the level of Aswan governorate but also at the level of the surrounding ones and some surrounding countries where the convoys organized by the university help in the treatment of Aswan patients so they don’t need to travel for having medicine. The convoy included a selected group of specialists in plastic surgery.  

  Prof. Qenawy declared that preparation for the convoy continued for more than 6 months where 230 cases have been checked up at the end of last November. Today 404 cases have been checked up so the total became 634 cases preparing for doing surgeries among the medical convoy to restore smile to Egypt’s children.

  He pointed out that some families flocked with their children for check-up and the possibility for having surgery where the urgent operation were determined for 82 children and 134 cases were transferred for having surgeries in plastic surgery department and 186 cases for periodic check-up till the operation date. The rest cases will be checked up and cured by conservative treatment, lotions and special injection.

  Dr. Meabeed said that the launch of this comprehensive specialized convoy in plastic surgeries is  free service to patients aims at treating Egyptian, Arab and migrant children as for (birthmarks, hand sticking after burns, burn scars and deformities, cleft lip and cleft palate, burns deformities and adhesions, congenital hand defects).
