The Global Vein Week events will be launched on Thursday Corresponding to 8th April 2021, under patronage of Prof/ Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Acting President of the University,
Prof. Mohamed Zaki Dahshouri_ Faculty of Medicine Dean, and in coordination with the World Health Organization, on holding scientific events during the Global Vein Week from 5-11 April 2021.
Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri_ Faculty of Medicine Dean declared that the events of the scientific day include awareness-raising methods among citizens about the importance and seriousness of vein diseases and how to prevent them, in addition to simplified lectures for young doctors practicing in the field of vascular surgery, the nursing staff, and medical and therapeutic service providers.
Dr. Mohamed Zaki Al-Dahshouri, Faculty of Medicine Dean at Aswan University added that Egypt has been invited as the leading country in this field in the African continent and the Arab world and to the founder and president of the Federation Prof. Emad El-Din Hussein_which its headquarter in Aswan University, professor of vascular surgery at Ain Shams University, founder of the Egypt Association for Science and the supervisor of Vascular surgery department at Aswan University.
Dr. Mohamed Ismail_ Head of the Department of Vascular surgery_ Aswan University, indicated that the events will be held in one of the major hotels in Aswan on Thursday, corresponding to 8th April 2021, and this comes in frame of suffering of many people in the age of 18-70 years from Veins diseases, whether superficial or deep veins. Chronic Venous insufficiency in the legs or deep vein thrombosis, which may lead to serious complications in the near or long term, and the rate and prevalence of this disease in the community ranges between 17-20%. Many medical societies for vascular surgery diseases around the world have been keen to participate in this Global week.
