
The Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University organizes the third international convoy, public and the second private, to the sister country of Tanzania from May 7, 2022 until May 20, under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, Aswan University President, and this comes within the framework of Aswan University’s regional and international role towards the external community in the African continent, under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the President of the Republic, to extend the roots of fruitful cooperation between Aswan University and African universities, especially after the president’s decision to make Aswan the capital of culture, economy and Arab and African youth for the African continent.
The convoy will go to the city of Pemba, Zanzibar, in continuation of the bilateral relations between the two countries and to complement the service, educational and medical role of the university towards Africa, taking into account the human and strategic dimension, and it includes the specializations of urology, endoscopic surgery and orthopedics.
The convoy will include the medical team consisting of: Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury – Professor of Urology and Endoscopy at Aswan Medicine, Prof. Hisham Hamed El-Refai – Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Aswan Medicine, and Dr. Ahmed Salah El-Din Mohamed – Lecturer of Urology Surgery – Aswan Medicine.
This is to perform medical examinations on patients of different ages and perform surgeries in the specialties of the tract, surgery for tract deformities in children and various orthopedic conditions.
This convoy is the second for Tanzania, where the Faculty of Medicine launched the first convoy in July 2021 on Pemba Island, Zanzibar, which lasted for a week and resulted in many surgeries to repair tract deformities in children.
