Discussing Cooperation Methods Between the Ministry of Higher Education in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Hong Kong Government

 

The Head of the Cultural Affairs and Missions Sector announces that, based on a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Consul General of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Hong Kong met with Ms. Christine Choi, Minister of Education of the Hong Kong Government, and discussed the following:

 

-Methods to enhance relationships between two sides in the higher education field.

 

-The minister praised the provision of specialized scholarships for Egyptian students as part of the government’s university scholarship program for Belt and Road countries.

 

-She also welcomed the idea of increasing cooperation between Egyptian universities and Hong Kong universities in the areas of scientific research, academic cooperation, and student exchange, recommending the signing of memoranda of understanding between the universities.

 

-They expressed their desire to attend any international events or exhibitions in Egypt relating to universities, higher education, and scientific and technical research.

 

-The Egyptian delegation is now working with officials from Polytechnic University to plan a visit to Egypt in May 2024 to meet with officials from other Egyptian universities.

In light of this matter, the Consulate proposes that an Egyptian university and its counterpart in Hong Kong sign a memorandum of understanding.
