As part of Aswan University’s serving role, and under the auspices of Prof. Louay Saad El-Din, Acting President of Aswan University, to strengthen ties between Egypt and African countries and to consolidate scientific and research cooperation, Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury -Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Professor of Urology, Andrology, and Urethral Stricture at Aswan Faculty of Medicine -participated in the medical convoy to Zanzibar, Tanzania, particularly at Lumumba Hospital. The convoy includes professors from the Faculties of Medicine in Qena and Sohag, the Oncology Institute in Sohag, as well as participants from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The mission began its activities on Saturday, September 13, 2025, providing examinations for both children and adults suffering from congenital urinary tract malformations.
It is worth mentioning that Prof. El-Dahshoury, Professor of Urology and Andrology at Aswan Faculty of Medicine, has always been keen to take part in charitable convoys to deliver medical services to patients in African countries. This participation marks his sixth consecutive mission to Zanzibar, Tanzania. He stated that the convoy began by examining patients on Saturday, followed by performing eight surgical operations between Sunday, September 14, and Friday, September 19, 2025.
He emphasized that the role of the convoy goes beyond medical examinations and surgical procedures, as it also extends to post-operative care to ensure patients’ recovery.
