Under the auspice of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – Acting President of Aswan University, and Prof. Muhammad Zaki Al-Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology because of its belief in the importance of Aswan Governorate as the capital of the Africa continent which should always be the focus of attention in all fields of life, and in line with the presidential initiatives towards providing education and health in all parts of Egypt, the initiative was held today, on Wednesday, corresponding to November 10, 2021, to launch the first conference of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology which is scheduled to continue until tomorrow, on Thursday corresponding to November 11, 2021, and is the first of its kind that discusses the latest results it has gained in the field of IVF by an elite of Egyptian scientists in this field. This event is considered a new breakthrough from Aswan University, and this comes under the supervision of Prof. Abdo Said Ait Allah – Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sohag University and the scientific supervisor of the Women and Obstetrics Department, Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, and Prof. Mohamed Saleh El-Din Fahmy – Head of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at Faculty of Medicine in Aswan, in cooperation with the Egyptian Foundation for Reproductive Medicine and Embryology headed by Prof. Hassan Maghraby – President of the Association; the conference was organized by the academic staff of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, at Faculty of Medicine in Aswan.
The conference was opened by “Othman” Acting President of Aswan University, by welcoming the attendees, pointing to the effective role that the administration of the Faculty of Medicine plays represented by “Al-Dahshoury”, the Dean of the faculty, as it takes on its shoulder upgrading the health system to achieve the best service for the patients of the governorate and neighboring governorates; as well as His Excellency praised the role of the university in general and the role of the Faculty of Medicine in particular in raising the classification of Aswan University in international rankings (Aswan University is among the best 500 universities in the world – and ranked the first at the level of citations) for what the faculty does in holding scientific conferences and publishing scientific research, and that the university is always and forever supports these activities and scientific conferences to spread awareness and keep pace with all what is new in the field of medical science.
For his part, “Al-Dahshoury” the Dean of the Faculty, praised the activities of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department at the Faculty of Medicine in Aswan and its doctors where the effort was implemented by them at the department; his Excellency seeks to advance and expand, as Aswan University Hospital has multiple branches inside the city of Aswan and New Aswan City; wherein Aswan City Al-Batinah hospital was equipped, which includes 150 beds and will be inaugurated soon, as well as the construction of an emergency and reception hospital with a capacity of 150 beds, and its preparation is underway. New Aswan City also includes the headquarters of the Faculty of Medicine and 2 hospitals that are under preparation.
”Salah El-Din”– Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Faculty of Medicine in Aswan, explained the importance of the conference, which aims to spread science and exchange experiences between the governorates of southern Upper Egypt, which hosts a group of scientists from various Egyptian universities, and the audience includes a group of academic staff and doctors from Aswan Hospital. The university, the Ministry of Health, and the conference will address several scientific sessions, which will be lectured by many specialists and experts.
In conclusion, the head of the department presented the shields to Dr. “Othman” the Acting President of Aswan University, Dr. “Dahshoury” the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. “Maghraby” the of the Egyptian Association President, and Dr. “Ayat Allah” the scientific supervisor of the department, and the generous platform in appreciation of their great efforts.
