Aswan Medicine Launches the Activities of the Fourth Training Course On Scientific Writing and Scientific Publishing

Under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman – Aswan University President, and Prof. Mohamed Zaki El Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Hussein – Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research, and Prof. Mostafa Adam Al-Tiri – Vice Dean of the Faculty for Education and Student Affairs, launched, today, Friday corresponding to  22/7/2022, the 1st day of the training course on scientific writing and scientific publishing, which is organized by the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University in cooperation with the Student Scientific Association (AMSA Aswan), which is held for the fourth time since the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine, which is entitled:

Scientific writing: from data collection to publishing: Hands-on course

It is scheduled to continue until Saturday corresponding to 23/7/2022, when the Faculty of Medicine hosted Prof. Ahmed Shukair – Professor of Urology, Mansoura University and Former Director of Ghoneim Center, to lecture the course over the two days.

In the beginning, Younis, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research Affairs, stressed the importance of scientific research for researchers from academic staff, their assistants, and university students, and this is what the university pays great attention to by providing all scientific and research capabilities, which are embodied in equipping laboratories with modern scientific research means.

The fruits of the interest in scientific research were that Aswan University obtained the 1st position in the scientific citation according to the British Times classification over the previous years, which gave Aswan University a strong scientific position among the international universities.

Al-Tiri, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, added that this course is not the first of its kind, as the Faculty of Medicine has organized more than one training course on how to know the steps and methods of scientific research so that the students of the faculty can acquire research experiences from professors and owners of research expertise and scientific standing from various universities to transfer them for faculty students, researchers, scholars, assistant lecturers, and how to write research, masters and doctoral theses.

This training course was prepared and organized by Dr. Hussein Muhammad Hussein – General Coordinator of Student Activities at the Faculty, in coordination with the Student Scientific Association (AMSA Aswan). The course included practical exercises by asking questions to the attendees, which resulted in their interactions; the attendance included Prof. Essam Abul-Magd – Director of the Surgery Hospital at Aswan University Hospital, and a group of department heads, academic staff and their assistants, researchers and students at the Faculty of Medicine.
