Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed – President of Aswan University, and Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, under the supervision of Prof. Gamal El-Din Esmat – Professor of Gastroenterology and Tropical Medicine and Honorary President of the Conference, Prof. Ehab Fawzy Abdo – Professor of Gastroenterology and Scientific Supervisor of the Department of Tropical Medicine at Aswan Faculty of Medicine, and Dr. Mohamed El-Badry – Acting Head of the Department of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology at Aswan Faculty of Medicine, and in the presence of Prof. Hubert Blume – Professor at the University of Freiburg in Germany, Prof. Abdullah El-Obeidi – Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, Dr. Ehab Emad – Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health in Aswan, and Mr. Ahmed Shaaban Suleiman, Deputy Governor of Aswan, announced the launch of the fourth annual conference of the Department of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology, which began today, Wednesday, February 26, 2020, and will continue until tomorrow, February 27.
The conference is organized by the Department of Tropical Medicine and Gastroenterology at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, in cooperation with the Egyptian Society for Research and Training in Liver and Intestinal Diseases, and the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at Aswan Fever Hospital. The conference theme is:
Basics hepato gastroenterology And Infectious Diseases
The conference included several scientific sessions and presentations, attended by a large number of professors from Egyptian universities and physicians from Aswan and other governorates. The conference addressed all aspects of gastrointestinal, liver, and infectious diseases, as well as methods for preventing infectious diseases, which are a high priority on the national agenda due to their leading role in many countries. This necessitates that the state unify efforts to support healthcare initiatives, a goal pursued by all health departments under the umbrella of the Ministry of Health. The collaboration between health institutions and the university has recently resulted in a major leap forward in the health sector.
On the sidelines of the conference, and based on the idea that a culture of recognition is one of the most important factors contributing to the growth and advancement of societies since recognition itself strongly motivates individuals towards excellence and encourages them to exert more positive efforts in serving society through people who appreciate scientific endeavor and scientists—Professor Dr. Ehab Fawzy, Head of Department, presented a plaque of appreciation to:
