
Within the framework of the community role of Aswan University, under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman, President of the University, Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Ashraf Ahmed Maabad, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Prof. Mohamed Salah El-Din Fahmy, Acting Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, the college organized a medical convoy to Wadi Kharit village in Nasr El-Nuba Center, which includes all medical specialties.
Al-Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, noted that the faculty is organizing a series of free medical convoys to assist the local and regional communities as part of its goal, in collaboration with university hospitals. This is a translation of the political leadership’s efforts to create numerous health initiatives aimed at alleviating the agony and suffering of sick citizens.
Fahmy, Acting Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, stated that Aswan University Hospitals, in cooperation with the Decent Life Foundation, organized a medical convoy today, November 25, 2023, with 8 specialties in Wadi Kharit One and 4 specialties in Wadi Kharit Two in Nasr Al-Nuba Centre, for a total of 12 specialties, where 564 cases were examined and treated free of charge, and 126 cases were transferred to Aswan University Hospitals for follow-up.
Ma’bad added that the convoy included all medical specialties such as orthopedics, pediatrics, urology, general surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, general internal medicine, dentistry, ophthalmology, neurology, chest, cardiovascular, digestive system, dermatology, ear, nose, and throat, according to the Faculty of Medicine’s Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs. The convoy set up several medical problems for free in a variety of specialties and provided free treatment. Surgical cases were also sent to Aswan University Hospitals to finish exams before surgery.
