Under the patronage of Prof. Ayman Mahmoud Othman _ Acting president of the university, Prof.Mohamed Zaki Dahshouri_ Faculty of Medicine dean, and in attendance of Prof. Magdy Mohamed Ali_ Vice president for Society service and environment development, today corresponding to 11th April 2021 at Movenpick Hotel in Aswan, The seventh Workshop of Urology and Nephrology was held headed by Prof/Mohamed Mostafa Hussein_ Head of Department and vice dean for graduate studies and research_ and entitled” OAB & SUI Updates (2020/2021).
Whereas the conference was held in attendance of Prof. Mohamed Shafiq _Professor of the Urology and Nephrology department at Alexandria university and Consultant of Urination Disorders and lack of control of urination to women and urination dynamics, in the coordination of Dr. Ahmed Salah _ Lecturer in Urology and Nephrology department in Faculty of Medicine, responsible of the unit of urination disorders and lack of control of urination to women and urination dynamics, amid applying precautionary measures to prevent coronavirus with sterilizing the attendees before entering the hall, as well as stressing wearing masks and applying social distancing between the attendees.
Prof. Othman_ Acting President of the University welcomed the attendees, attendees included a selected group of physicians from Aswan University Hospital from the departments of (Urology and Nephrology – Gynecology and Obstetrics). He praised the university’s role in general and the role of the Faculty of Medicine in particular in raising Aswan University’s Ranking Internationally (Aswan University is among the best 400 universities in the world) for what the faculty does in terms of holding scientific conferences and publishing scientific research, and that the university always supports the scientific activities and conferences to spread awareness and keep up with everything new in the field of medical sciences.
For his part, Prof. Al-Dahshuri_ Faculty Dean_ praised the activities of the Department of Urology and Nephrology at Aswan faculty of Medicine and the physicians of it, as the ongoing efforts in the department as well as the department head’s interest in holding annual conferences, scientific meetings, and workshops continuously whereas this workshop is the seventh workshop held by the Department of Urology and Nephrology.
Dr. Younes stated that the conference dealt with many scientific lectures lectured by:
Prof. Mohamed Shafiq – Professor of Urology at Alexandria University, who dealt with:
“Updates management of overactive bladder OAB – B3 agonist in ttt of OAB”.
Prof. Bilal Farhan – Assistant Professor of Urology at UTMB University – Texas, gave a lecture online about:
“Updates of management of stress urinary incontinence SUI”.
Dr. Hassan Ali – Professor of Urology at Aswan Medicine, who dealt with:
“Surgical challenges of trance obturator mid-urethral sling – TOT”.
Dr. Ahmed Salah – Lecturer of urology in Aswan faculty of medicine, and dealt with:
“Resurgence of rectus facia sling”
