On Friday, January 12, 2018, Prof. Ahmed Ghallab Mohamed, President of Aswan University, inaugurated a medical conference featuring a scientific workshop titled:
“Peripheral and Central Nervous System Physiology through Neurophysiological Measurements.”
The event was attended by Prof. Mansour Kabash, Secretary of the Medical Studies Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities and former President of Aswan University; Prof. Hanan Abdel Moneim, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Hussein El-Sherif, Head of the Surgery Department at the Faculty of Medicine; Dr. Ehab Emad Hanafy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health and Population in Aswan; and Dr. Iman Khader, Chair of the Conference, with participation from several Egyptian universities.
Prof. Ahmed Ghallab highlighted the vital role of the Faculty of Medicine and Aswan University Hospital in community service, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between the university hospital and the Aswan Health Directorate in delivering medical care to patients across Upper Egypt.
Dr. Iman Khader, Head of the Neurology and Psychiatry Department at Aswan University Hospital and Chair of the Conference, explained that the conference brought together a distinguished group of specialists from several Egyptian universities, including Ain Shams, Cairo, Assiut, Sohag, Menoufia, South Valley, and Aswan Universities.
The conference featured four workshops held over two days, focusing on the latest studies and applications in ultrasound imaging of cerebral arteries and peripheral nerves, in addition to other advanced ultrasound techniques.
In his speech, Prof. Hussein El-Sherif described medicine as a noble profession and stressed the importance of maintaining a strong and respectful relationship between doctors and patients. He also praised Prof. Mansour Kabash for his role in establishing the Neurology and Psychiatry Department at Aswan University Hospital and for his pioneering contributions to the university, which has witnessed remarkable progress under the leadership of Prof. Ahmed Ghallab, President of the University.
