-An Introduction to Neurology and Psychiatry:
The Department of Neurological and Psychiatric Diseases was established as part of the University Hospital of the Faculty of Medicine at Aswan University in 2013, and the department was opened with the rest of the hospital and work began with a team of faculty members. The academic department and work began with the presence of 2 teachers, 2 assistant teachers, and one teaching assistant.
The department is distinguished from the rest of the internal medicine departments in that it is the only one in the governorate entrusted with providing a service of diagnosis and treatment of various acute and chronic neurological diseases, and the presence of a stroke unit, as well as the first cerebral catheterization unit at the whole level, which was in the Department of Neurology, Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University.
The department seeks to hold annual scientific conferences as well as workshops on the sidelines of the conference in order to find out all that is new in the field of neurological and psychiatric diseases. It has held the following conferences:
The First International Conference of the Department of Neurology, Faculty of Medicine – Aswan University, from 6 to 9 January 2016, at Isis El Gezira Hotel in Aswan.
The Second International Conference of the Department of Neurology, Faculty of Medicine – Aswan University, from January 12 to 14, 2018, at City Max Plaza Hotel, Aswan.
The Third International Conference of the Department of Neurology, Faculty of Medicine – Aswan University, from 28 to 29 January 2019, at Isis El Gezira Hotel in Aswan.
