Plastic Surgery Department is About to Launch a Free Convoy for Pediatric Congenital Deformity Surgeries

Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at Aswan University and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals; Prof.Ashraf Maabad, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals; and Dr. Amr Alam, Director of the Surgical Hospital, the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery; under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Qanawy, Head of the Department organized a free local medical convoy for pediatric plastic and reconstructive surgeries addressing congenital anomalies and post-burn deformities at Aswan University Hospitals.

 

This initiative comes within the framework of the department’s ongoing medical and clinical education activities and aims to strengthen hands-on training and practical application. It is part of the department’s 2026 annual plan, which includes three medical convoys throughout the year. Prof. Ahmed Qanawy stated that patient examinations and medical consultations are scheduled to begin on Friday, April 10, 2026, with surgical procedures to be carried out on Saturday in three fully equipped operating rooms.

 

The convoy brings together a multidisciplinary medical team, including:
-The Department of Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care.
-The Department of Pediatrics.
-A Speech Therapist and an Oral and Dental Medicine Specialist.
-The Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, with its full medical staff.

 

This medical convoy reflects Aswan University Hospitals’ commitment to delivering comprehensive, high-quality healthcare services free of charge to those most in need.
