The Faculty of Medicine at Aswan University organized a graduation ceremony for the eleventh cohort of physicians under the new academic study system. The event was held under the patronage of Prof. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, and Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine.
The ceremony was attended by the Faculty’s Vice Deans: Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Hussein, Vice -Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mostafa Adam El-Tiri, Vice- Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research; and Prof. Ashraf Ahmed Maabad, Vice- Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development and Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals. Also present were Prof. Ramadan Ghaleb, Director of the Specialized Internal Medicine Hospital; Dr. Amr Alam El-Din Ahmed, Secretary General of the Aswan Doctors Syndicate, representing the Head of the Syndicate; along with executive and community leaders of the governorate, Muslim and Christian religious figures, and distinguished members of the local community. The ceremony took place in a celebratory atmosphere filled with joy and pride, as the Faculty marked the graduation of 125 physicians for the 2024–2025 academic year. This cohort represents the first class to graduate under the Faculty’s new study system.
In his address, Prof. Nasrat, Acting President of the University, congratulated the graduates, emphasizing the University’s strong commitment to advancing medical education. He described the graduation of this cohort as a significant milestone in the history of the Faculty of Medicine, reflecting the success of the academic development and clinical training systems implemented in accordance with the latest educational standards.
He expressed confidence in the graduates’ ability to uphold the noble mission of medicine, serving the nation with competence and dedication, particularly in the governorates of Upper Egypt, which remain central to the University’s development strategy. He also commended the Faculty’s continuous efforts to keep pace with modern advancements in medical education and healthcare.
For his part, Prof. El-Dashoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, expressed his pride in the graduates, noting the Faculty’s pivotal role in preparing scientifically and practically qualified physicians capable of meeting the evolving demands of the medical profession. He highlighted that the new curriculum integrates academic study with clinical training at Aswan University Hospitals, contributing to the enhancement of healthcare services provided to the community.
Prof. Mohamed Mostafa Hussein, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, affirmed that the Faculty, in cooperation with Aswan University Hospitals, continues to make steady progress in strengthening scientific research, developing educational programs, and supporting young medical professionals, in alignment with the Egyptian state’s vision for the advancement of the healthcare sector.
The ceremony featured the national anthem, a recitation from the Holy Quran, and a speech delivered by the graduates expressing their gratitude to the University administration and faculty members. The event concluded with the administration of the professional oath and the honoring of the graduates, amid the overwhelming joy of their families, marking both the culmination of years of dedication and the beginning of a new chapter in service to humanity.
