As part of the scientific activities of the Department of Anesthesia, Surgical Intensive Care and Pain Management, the Department’s Scientific Day activities were launched this morning, Saturday, July 12, 2025. This comes under the auspices of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Mohamed Salah El-Din, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, and Prof. Ashraf Maabad, Director of the Surgery Hospital, under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed El-Saeed, Scientific Supervisor of the Department of Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care, and Dr. Mohamed Saeed, Lecturer and Administrative Supervisor of the Department of Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care.
On the sidelines of the scientific day, a “Artificial Respiration in Intensive Care” workshop was organized at Aswan University Hospital’s Department of Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care. The course was aimed for healthcare providers working in critical care, respiratory therapy, and emergency medicine. The workshop discussed a variety of issues, the most notable of which were:
-Ventilator settings and positions.
-Patient-ventilator interaction.
-Advanced ventilator strategies.
-Interactive hands-on training on the latest ventilators.
The attendees included a select group of academic staff, their assistants, and young doctors from the department. Lectures were given by:
Dr. Saoudi Salah, Lecturer of Anesthesia and Surgical Intensive Care at the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University.
Dr. Khaled Alwan, Agent for the Arab Engineering Office of (Maquet and Getinge Group), which produces ventilators.
