Eighth Annual Conference of the Department of Cardiology and Vascular Medicine on the latest developments in cardiology has been launched

Under the auspices of Prof. Loay Saad El-Din Nasrat – Acting President of Aswan University, and Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, under the supervision of Prof.  Ramadan Ghaleb – Head of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine and Chairman of the Conference, and Prof. Hossam Mansour – Conference Secretary, the department launched today, Thursday, January 23, 2025, its eighth annual conference on everything new in cardiology, in the presence and honor of Prof. Ashraf Maabad – Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and a group of academic staff, their assistants, and doctors from the department at Aswan Medicine and from various universities.

 

The conference began with recitations from the Holy Quran, followed by the national hymn. Then, “Ghalib,” the department head, welcomed the delegates and announced that the conference would last two days, Thursday and Friday, which correspond to the 23rd and 24th of January.

 

His Excellency referred to the opening of the new unit at the Internal Medicine Specialized Hospital, which includes the Cardiology Unit, Intensive Care Unit, and Catheterization Unit, so that the unit includes (15) beds, which in turn contributed to accommodating a large number of heart patients in the governorate, while trying to end the waiting lists for patients who need to perform diagnostic and therapeutic catheterization, referring to the operation of the Cardiac Electrophysiology Unit headed by Dr. Enas Abu Al-Hamad.

 

His Excellency further stated that the department is developing a specific research unit to perform MRI scans of the heart and CT scans of the coronary arteries.

“Ma’bad,” the college’s vice dean for community service and environmental development affairs, welcomed the honorable attendees on his own behalf and on behalf of “Dahshouri,” the faculty s dean, who apologized for his absence due to a scientific mission in the sister country of Tanzania and wished them a pleasant stay.

 

His Excellency praised the Cardiology Department at the University Hospital for its tireless efforts to serve patients and raise the department’s scientific level, and wished the attendees to benefit from the distinguished scientific programs in which senior professors transfer expertise to young doctors.
