Under the patronage of Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nasrat – Acting President of Aswan University, and Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri – Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Mustafa Hussein Younis – Head of the Department of Urology and Andrology at Aswan Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Conference, which will be held at the Isis Hotel from February 12 to February 14, 2024, the conference will be preceded by the launch of four workshops on major operations over two days at Aswan University Hospitals.
Al-Dahshouri, Dean of the Faculty and Professor of Urology at Aswan Faculty of Medicine, indicated that the first of these workshops began today, Monday, and focused on “the latest methods of treating urinary incontinence in women and urinary tract diseases in women.” Dr. Ahmed Salah, a urology lecturer at Aswan Faculty of Medicine, conducted this session. Dr. Bilal Farhan, Professor of Urology and Reproductive Medicine at the University of Texas in the United States of America, assisted in the performance of (8) surgical procedures for women suffering from urine incontinence and other advanced disorders in gynecological surgery.
The second workshop was titled “Using Surgical Endoscopy in Urology”. Dr. Hassan Ali, a urology lecturer at Aswan Faculty of Medicine, conducted this session. The cases were operated on by Prof. Ali Abdel Karim, Professor of Urology at the Alexandria Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Mahmoud Shalaby, Professor of Urology at the Assiut Faculty of Medicine.
During his lecture, Younis, the head of the department, stated that two workshops will be completed tomorrow, Tuesday, the first on “New developments in prostate endoscopy with laser and vaporization and the use of flexible endoscopes in treating stones”. The workshop will be organized by Dr. Peter Tawfik, a urology lecturer at Aswan Faculty of Medicine, and the cases will be conducted by Prof. Parimal Gharia from India, Prof. hab Refaat, a urology professor at Minya University Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Inmar Habib, a urology professor at Cairo University.
The day will finish with a final workshop on “Flexible Penile Implants,” in which three to four procedures will be done on patients suffering from erectile dysfunction, and flexible implants will be put. Dr. Amr Alam, Lecturer of Urology and Andrology at Aswan Faculty of Medicine, will organize the workshop, and the surgeries will be performed by Prof. Dolim Al-Hajri, Professor of Urology in the supportive State of Kuwait and the head of the Kuwait Urology Association, and Prof. Muhannad Al-Harbi, Professor of Urology in the sisterly State of Saudi Arabia.
