In partnership with the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Aswan University Hospital and the Operation Smile Egypt Foundation, It’s declared by Prof. Ahmed Qanawi Moussa – Head of the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Aswan University, he further stated that the work of this convoy is being carried out under the gracious patronage of Prof. Louay Saad El-Din Nasrat, Acting President of Aswan University, Under the patronage and great support of the Aswan University Hospitals Administration, under the patronage and great support of the Aswan University Hospitals Administration, headed by Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshouri – Dean of Aswan Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Aswan University Hospitals, and under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Salah El-Din – the executive director of Aswan University Hospitals, vice-deans of the Faculty of Medicine, all various faculties’ departments and a support by the initiative of ”People for Each Other” at Aswan Governorate.
Qanawi confirmed that the medical examination of the beneficiaries of the medical and therapeutic services provided by the convoy began on Friday, December 6, beginning at 8:00 a.m. for the cases to prepare them for surgical intervention at Aswan University Hospital at the Internal Medicine Hospital headquarters, where the cases wishing to attend sent a picture of the case in advance with a blood test, prothrombin time, and concentration to the designated whats app number.
Pointing out that the convoy also received patients residing in beloved Egypt from Arab and foreign communities, based on Egypt’s pioneering role in providing free medical services to residents from Arab and foreign brothers and all nationalities, and as an extension of the Egyptian role for Egypt at all levels, explaining that sick children from Arab and foreign communities registered through personal data of both parents or one of them without incurring any financial costs.
In the same context, Qanawi, Head of the Department of Cosmetology and Reconstruction at Aswan University, thanked the “People for Each Other” initiative for the unlimited support it provided for the success of the convoy’s work, especially Dr. Ezz El-Sadek, through the collection of medical cases, providing them with financial support, providing transportation for treatment and follow-up at Aswan University Hospital, providing milk for children, and aid to poor families, which extends to helping them establish small projects that benefit them and help them with daily life obligations in light of their difficult circumstances.
Al-Dahshouri, the dean of the faculty, noted that this convoy is awaited by patients from various governorates of the republic and the Upper Egypt region in particular, due to the medical service it provides in this rare specialty that many patients from our people in these areas suffer from, and that the convoy provides support and relief to children in particular and everything they need in terms of medical and surgical intervention and treatment, adding that the convoy included the following specialties: (children, surgery, dentistry, speech, anesthesia, intensive care, and child nutrition), as the examination was scheduled for December 6 , while the operations will extend until the end of the week at the university hospital, explaining that the convoy is supervised by professors of the specialty and consultants from abroad.
On the other hand, Nasrat, the acting president of Aswan University, stated that the university provides its full support to the convoy based on the societal role it provides to the citizens of the governorate and the governorates of the southern Upper Egypt region through cooperation with civil society institutions, praising the role of Operation Smile – Egypt Foundation, which provides its medical and therapeutic services periodically in collaboration with Aswan University.
His Excellency thanked Aswan University’s Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, led by Prof. Ahmed Qanawi Moussa, for their efforts and pioneering and specialized treatment services, which outperform those provided by the most prestigious international and local hospitals for patients from Aswan Governorate and neighboring governorates.
In turn, Prof. Mohamed Salah El-Din Fahmy, Executive Director of Aswan University Hospitals, thanked Operation Smile Egypt Foundation, the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and all departments and specialties that provide their services for the appearance of this convoy in a decent manner, as well as all professors, doctors, and workers at Aswan University Hospitals, expressing his willingness to provide any means of support for the convoy’s success in view of its service and societal role in serving patients in Aswan Governorate, the Upper Egypt region, and all patients received by the convoy from various governorates of the Republic.
