Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Zaki El-Dahshoury, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Aswan University, and the Supreme Council of University Hospitals, an awareness session on breast cancer was held yesterday evening, Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Department of General Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Aswan, at the same time as 22 university hospitals in all governorates of Egypt.
Under the guidance of Prof. Ibrahim El-Zayat, Head of the Department of General Surgery at Aswan Medicine; Prof. Mohi El-Din Mustafa, Assistant Professor of General Surgery; and Dr. Haitham Gamal, Assistant Lecturer of Surgery.
“El-Zayat,” Head of the Department of Surgery, noted that this session was held in successful collaboration with the following departments:
Department of General Surgery.
Department of Oncology: Dr. Ahmed Saeed, Lecturer of Oncology, and Dr. Haitham El-Dardery, Assistant Lecturer in the same department.
Department of Diagnostic Radiology: Dr. Ahmed Adel and Dr. Sally Safwat (Lecturers of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology).
Department of Pathology (pathology): Dr. Shaimaa Mounir Bebars, Head of the Department.
The Student Scientific Association for Aswan Medical Students.
The talk provided a full explanation of the initiative as well as a long discussion panel. A group of doctors, the nursing team, executives from the university, the university hospital, and civil society in Aswan attended, as did a representative of the presidential initiatives from the Comprehensive Health Insurance Authority in Aswan and several Aswan women.
