-An Introduction to Ophthalmology:
Laying the foundation stone for the establishment of the Department of Ophthalmology and Surgery in mid-2013 as the first university ophthalmology department in southern Upper Egypt to serve the people of Aswan.
Work and planning began with all university officials to provide the necessary needs to operate the department with the highest possible efficiency and provide a distinguished service worthy of the capital of magic and beauty.
Immediately, a group of qualified faculty members and their assistants were appointed, and they began purchasing the latest medical devices. Although the path was not easy, we, with God’s help and the sincere determination of our children, were able to provide many advanced devices to perform various examinations and delicate operations.
The department is now ready to perform various surgeries and necessary examinations for eye patients in Aswan and neighboring governorates.
The department also aspires to expand the services it provides to include more services and patients.
The department is interested in holding many conferences and scientific meetings to reach all that is new in ophthalmology and has held the following conferences:
1- The First Scientific Meeting of the Ophthalmology Department (glaucoma meeting), Aswan, 29 Feb 2016.
2- The Second Scientific Meeting of the Ophthalmology Department, 14 April 2019.
3- Aswan National Ophthalmology Scientific Meeting, 27 Sept 2019.
